Introducing our New Tour!

Northern tuscany & ravenna

We are delighted to be launching our brand new itinerary for 2018 which will be running twice, in both May and October.  This 7 night tour starts and finishes in Bologna, the culinary capital of Emilia-Romagna.  We drop down to the northern part of Tuscany to explore the unknown territory of the Mugello, a wide green valley criss-crossed by the Sieve river, shaping a landscape filled with vines, chestnut woods and beech forests.  Our hikes take us over lands which inspired great Renaissance artists and poets and we follow sections of the Gothic Line, the last major German defensive line in the Italian campaign of WWII.  We travel towards the Adriatic coast to finish in the unrivalled UNESCO city of Ravenna, once the capital of the Western Roman Empire, but still home to some of the world's most dazzling Byzantine mosaics.

Interest in this new tour is already high and we have some confirmed bookings but there are still spaces on both departures if you would like to join us. The tour will run from 13-20 May and 10-17 October.

Anyone who already expressed an interest in a tour for next year should by now have completed booking forms and received a deposit invoice.  Please get in touch if this is not the case.

The Art of Travelling Light!

This is a plea to all Hedonistic Hikers to remember to travel light!  The vans we use, which get us to remote places for the start of our hikes, can easily accommodate one medium piece of luggage per person, plus a day pack.
However, this spring we have struggled with a number of enormous and overweight suitcases, as well as hikers carrying two or even three items of luggage and this can lead to major transport issues for the tour. Our guidelines on what to bring are designed to help you decide exactly what you need and what to leave behind!
